I love black with just about any color. The striking color combination always makes for a cheerful and bold card.  

Today's tutorial includes directions on how to use the "That's the Tag" Bundle to create this beautiful stained glass look.  

I've included written instructions below for those of you on a mobile device. There is also a PDF download available if you'd like to save the tutorial for future inspiration.

Supplies:

  • Stamps – That’s The Tag Bundle (144725)
  • Cardstock – Daffodil Delight (119683); Basic Black (121045); Whisper White (100730); Soft Sky (131203); Old Olive (100702)
  • Ink – Memento Tuxedo Black (132708)
  • Other – Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Series Paper (141648); Big Shot (143263), Magnetic Platform (130658); Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430); Fine-Tip Glue Pen (138309)

Measurements:

  • Whisper White (base): 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", folded in half
  • Whisper White: 2 3/4" x 2 3/4"
  • Daffodil Delight (layer): 3” x 3”            
  • Basic Black (layer): 3 1/8” x 3 1/8”
  • Basic Black: 2 1/8” x 2 5/8” to die cut
  • Designer Paper (black with white diamond pattern): 1 5/8” x 5 1/2"
  • Soft Sky: 2 1/8” x 2 5/8” to die cut
  • Old Olive: 2 1/8” x 2 5/8” to die cut

Instructions:

  1. Die cut the oval daisy thinlit die using the smallest piece of black cardstock noted. Remove all the pieces to leave just the frame.
  2. Using the same die as in step 1, die cut the center of the Daffodil Delight layer. Remove all the pieces, except the center of the flower.
  3. Use Fine-Tip Glue to adhere the small white cardstock square to the back of the Daffodil Delight layer. Also glue the black daisy oval to the white. Glue in the flower center.
  4. Die cut another oval from the daisy thinlit die using Soft Sky cardstock. Remove the pieces, one at a time and using Fine-Tip Glue, adhere them into the black daisy frame as shown.
  5. Die cut another oval from the daisy Thinlit die using Old Olive cardstock. Remove the pieces, one at a time and using Fine-Tip Glue, adhere them into the black daisy frame as shown.
  6. Adhere the designer paper to the left side of the card base approximately ½” from the crease.
  7. Adhere the Daffodil Delight layer onto the black layer. Adhere the layers to the card base using Dimensionals.
  8. Stamp the sentiment under the right side of the layered image using the black ink.

A World of Thanks Card Tutorial

Today's tutorial includes two more fabulous products that are retiring.  The "World of Thanks" background stamp creates a simple, yet stunning thank you card.  Here it's coupled with the retiring Botanical Builder Framelits.

  • StampsA World of Thanks (wood 139312, clear 139315)
  • Cardstock– Whisper White (100730); Flirty Flamingo (141416)
  • Ink – Flirty Flamingo (141397)
  • OtherBotanical Builder Framelits (140625); Rhinestones (119246); Big Shot (143263); Glue Dots (103683)

Measurements:

  • Whisper White (base): 5 ½” x 8 ½”, folded in half
  • Flirty Flamingo (layer): 4” x 5 ¼” + scraps
  • Whisper White (layer): 3 ¾” x 5” + scraps 

Instructions:

  1. Stamp the background image on Whisper White layer using Flirty Flamingo ink. Adhere to the card base.
  2. Die cut 3 flowers using the Framelits and Flirty Flamingo scraps. Die cut t3 flower centers using Whisper White scraps.
  3. Adhere the flower centers to the flowers using Glue Dots. Add a rhinestone to the each flower center.
  4. Adhere the flowers to the card base using Glue Dots.

Touches of Texture Card Tutorial

Isn't this card elegant?

A simple die cut circle of coordinating cardstock behind the intricate Lace Doily creates a beautiful focal point.  

I've included the step-by-step instructions below for those of you using a mobile device. I've also included a downloadable PDF tutorial for those that would like to save this project for future use.

Supplies:

  • Stamps: Touches of Texture (143251)
  • Inks: Basic Black (140931), Calypso Coral (126983)
  • Cardstock: Calypso Coral (122925), Very Vanilla (101650)
  • Other: Lace Doilies (142793), Linen Thread (104199), Subtles Markers (131263), Metallic Enamel Shapes (141678), Big Shot (143263), Magnetic Platform (130658), Layering Circles Framelits (141706), Fine-Tip Glue Pen (138309), Dimensionals (104430) 

Measurements:

  • Calypso Coral (base): 5 ½” x 8 ½”, folded in half
  • Calypso Coral: scrap
  • Very Vanilla (layer): 3 ¾” x 5”
  • Very Vanilla: scrap
  • Linen Thread: 30” 

Instructions:

  1. Stamp the splatter image using Calypso Coral ink on the vanilla layer, twice without reinking the stamp.
  2. Die cut a 2 ¼” circle using vanilla scrap. Adhere the circle to the back of the doily using the Fine-Tip Glue. Adhere the layered piece to the vanilla layer using Dimensionals.
  3. Wrap the Linen Thread around near the bottom of the vanilla layer twice. Tie in a knot then make a bow.
  4. Adhere the vanilla layer to the card base.
  5. Stamp the flower image using black ink on vanilla scrap. Color in the image using the Blushing Bride marker for the flower petals, the Calypso Coral marker for the flower centers and Wild Wasabi for the leaves. Cut the image out using your scissors. Adhere the flowers to the card base using Dimensionals.
  6. Add three silver Metallic Shapes to the card as shown.

Today's tutorial is a baby card featuring the adorable rocking horse in the Little Cuties stamp set.  You can find this set on page 17 of the Occasions Catalog.  The images in this set aren't just for babies.

There's an adorable puppy, a kitten, a chick and even a lamb.  There are also accessories so that your little cuties can be ready for any occasion from Easter to birthdays. 

I've included the tutorial instructions below for those on a mobile device. I have also included a downloadable PDF tutorial on a Google Drive for those that would like to save this tutorial for future inspiration.

  • Ink – Basic Black (140931); VersaMark (102283)
  • Other – Pool Party 3/8” Stitched Satin Ribbon (141691); Watercolor Pencils (141709); Blender Pens (102845); Heat Tool (129053); Metal Rimmed Pearls (138394); White Stampin’ Emboss Powder (109132); Dimensionals (104430)

Measurements:

  • Note Card (base)
  • Pool Party (layer): 2 ¾” x 3 ¼”
  • Pool Party (strip): ½” x 1 ¾”
  • Watercolor Paper: 3 ½” x 3” 

Instructions:

  1. Wrap the ribbon around the note card and tie it in a bow on the right side of the card front as shown.
  2. Stamp the rocking horse on the watercolor paper using black ink.
  3. Color in the image using the Watercolor Pencils and the Blender Pen. Use the gray watercolor pencil sparingly around the entire image and blend. This will give your image a highlighted appearance. If you’re unsure how to use the Watercolor Pencils I have a video tutorial here: https://youtu.be/BPymRGnZmbs
  4. Adhere the stamped image to the Pool Party layer. Adhere the layers to the note card using Dimensionals.
  5. Stamp the greeting using to the far right side on the Pool Party strip using VersaMark ink. Sprinkle the greeting with the embossing powder and heat set. Adhere to the upper left corner of the watercolor paper as shown.
  6. Add a metal-rimmed pearl to the left side of the greeting as shown.
