As promised, today I'm sharing the favors I created.  I love spoiling my attendees and like to leave them small gifts on their table throughout the day.

This favor was sitting at their 'home' station and included their name so they knew where to sit.  The cactus were made from die cut ovals and glued together to make them 3D.  They are placed into a 3" terra cotta clay pot and covered in decorative rock.  The name tags were printed on the computer, punched out using the Decorative Label Punch and glued to a skewer.

I leave another favor on their station for when they return from lunch.  I purchased packaged Mexican cookies at a local Spanish Market and filled a cello bag.  The cardstock holder is created using the Birthday Fiesta Bundle and Festive Birthday Designer Paper.

The evening favor is left at their station following their dinner.  I used the Clear Tiny Treat Boxes to wrap Festive Birthday Designer Paper and the Birthday Fiesta Bundle.  The stamps and punch are part of the Thoughtful Banners Bundle.  I filled the box with a roll of Baker's Twine.

No retreat is complete without a candy buffet!  There was just a little left of 12 lbs. (yes, I said pounds!) of candy.

Did you notice the tags? I created the tags to fit the retreat theme.  The first uses the retired Dress Up Framelits for the base.  I die cut a circle for the colorful skirt from the Festive Birthday designer paper and scored to make pleats. The white petticoat is a white cupcake liner.

This punch art tag uses framelits, circle punches and the Fox Builder Punch to make the mustache and scarf.

And no fiesta should be without its llama mascot.

Twice a year in March and October I host an all day retreat.  To say that this event is the most involved and elaborate event I hold each year would be an understatement - but I love it!

Each retreat has a different theme which allows me to enjoy my second passion - decorating!  October 22nd's retreat theme was "Fiesta".

I hold this event at the Brandon Elks Lodge where we have 2,000 square feet to sprawl out, relax, stamp and have fun.  Lunch and dinner are homemade on the premises by the Ladies of the Elks.  The food was delicious and no one left hungry!

I've attended all kinds of stamping and crop events in my 18 years and the one thing I always disliked was being stuffed inside a room like sardines.  You can see by the pictures that there are only two people per table which I deem their "home" station for the day.  Each person receives a product goodie bag valued at $30.

The tables on the carpeted areas are the 9 make & take projects allowing everyone an opportunity to work at their own pace.

I love a grand entrance.  I'm limited on a decorating budget so the Lodge helps by providing the trellis for free.

These tissue paper flowers were huge!  My friend, Jill, and I spent an entire day making these as well as smaller flowers we used throughout the room.

The sombrero, blanket and maracas were on loan from a friend.

I borrowed the guitar from Boo and used poster putty to hold the silk flowers in place.

This is the door prize table.  I give away 5 door prizes throughout the  day as well as game prizes. Who doesn't love Prize Patrol, right?

The Big Shot die cutting station was the busiest of all the tables.  I housed 6 Big Shots so waiting was at a minimum.  The funniest memory of the day centered around this set of tables.

A tiny (and I mean, tiny!) framelit was accidentally misplaced and had been thrown away.  My team member, Leann, offered to dumpster dive in an effort to find it.  AND she found it!  The place was is a roar with applause because no one wanted to fussy cut a flower that size.

Be sure to come back tomorrow. You won't want to miss part 2!  I'll be sharing the favors and tags I made.

4/28/16:

Well, this is embarrassing! A wonderful viewer sent me an email telling me that she didn't know 'how' to emboss just the flap of the envelope. After viewing the video today, I realized that this portion of the video was accidentally edited out! Oh my, how embarrassing!

Here are the step by step instructions:

*Place just the flap of the envelope into the embossing folder and close it.
*You will notice that the envelope sticks out further than will allow in the Big Shot so fold the remaining portion of the envelope BEHIND the embossing folder.
*Remove all the tabs on the Big Shot so you are only using the base platform.
*Place a clear mat on the bottom of the platform.
*Place your embossing folder/envelope on the clear mat.
*Place another clear mat on the top of the embossing folder/envelope.
*Crank through the Big Shot and remove.

My sincerest apologies. Looks like I really need this upcoming vacation, huh?
