Why is it so special?

Blog Button

For the last three years I've earned the Founders Circle Retreat and it has been the pinnacle of my Stampin' Up! career.  When I'm asked 'why is it so special', I'm quick to respond "because of the people".  I love and appreciate the nightly pillow gifts, the make & takes, the food and the accommodations but the friendships are the absolute best part!

My fellow demonstrators have helped me build my business by freely sharing ideas and by encouraging me.   They are more than 'top demonstrators', they are my friends.

This group picture is very special to me.  About 2 months ago I shared my 'crazy idea' to have matching t-shirts for the PJ Party/Swap night.  Thanks to a stamping sister, Tamra Davis, who has an Etsy store where she creates customized products, that crazy idea came through!  She designed and created the t-shirts for anyone who wanted one.  Who said crazy ideas don't pan out?!

My second favorite part of the Founders Circle Retreat is our trip to the Knab, Utah manufacturing facility. The Knab facility eagerly readies for our visit. They take us on a tour of the facility where get to see how cardstock is cut and packaged, how ink pads are made and how stamps are manufactured.  They day is topped off by the most incredible BBQ.  Fellow demonstrator, Lyssa Zwolanek, organized a group effort to put together goodie bags as a thank you to the Knab employees.  Lyssa assigned groups to bring specific items and together we spent several hours filling the bags and making tags.  Tamra Davis created a custom banner for Knab visit and everyone signed it.  We truly are grateful for our Knab manufacturing facility. Without them, there would be no stamps, ink pads or cardstock.

The Founders Circle Retreat era has come to an end but the friendships that have been formed are forever strong.

My heart is filled with gratitude because I would have never earned this trip without YOU!

Weekly Deals & Stamp Out Breast Cancer

The Founders Circle Retreat has come to an end. It was a bittersweet time with amazing friends while we inspired, shared and made memories together.  I promise to share more this weekend when I arrive back home.

I'm in Las Vegas for the next few days visiting my Mom and step Dad.  The timing couldn't have been more perfect. My Mom celebrated her 75th birthday on Sunday, the same day that Founders Circle ended.

We enjoyed the BEST meal at the Charcoal Room in the Palace Station Hotel &  Casino.  I had king crab legs.  So delicious!  Dessert was an incredible chocolate layer cake and of course, we sang 'happy birthday'...candle and all!

Bundle Up with Snow Place, Flurry of Wishes & Holly Jolly Greetings

We're in day 3 of the Stampin' Up! Founders Circle Retreat and I'm having a great time!  This is such a refreshing time for me.  There are tons of opportunities to sit and catch up on each other.  I feel privileged to be here with these incredible demonstrators!

The temperatures here in St. George, Utah have been a gorgeous 90-something degrees every day. It does get a bit chilly (for this Floridian, at least!) at night time (60's) but I'm loving the fact that I can wear a pair of jeans and a light jacket...not something we're doing at home in Florida right now.

My card is all about a temperature change and features three different Bundles from the Holiday Catalog.

How could anyone resist that adorable penguin?! He's a part of a great set called "SnowPlace" which is available as a Bundle.  Bundles include the stamp set and the coordinating framelits.  When you purchase the Bundle you save 15% versus purchasing the set and framelits separately.

The coordinating framelits even cut out the tiny holly on his hat.  There's a framelit for every image in the set!

I 'hijacked' this snowflake from the Bundle called Flurry of Wishes.  I thought the added embellishment was perfect for my snowy scene and provided balance on my card.

The greeting is from the Holly Jolly Greetings stamp set. Oh yeah, that has a Bundle, too!  There are so many Bundles in the new Holiday Catalog that you won't be able to choose just one - I promise!

Cas(e) This Sketch Challenge & Acorny Thank You

Today's the day that my fellow Founders Circle achievers arrive in St. George, Utah.  I'm beyond excited to see everyone.  We'll be talking over the entire hotel (did I mention the ENTIRE hotel?), every room, the banquet halls, the lobby, the pool and even their hotel shuttle runs us wherever we want to go.  It's pampering heaven!

The sketch challenge from CAS(E) This Sketch was perfect for these adorable acorns!

The best part is that there is no fussy cutting required. This stamp set and the acorn builder punch can be purchased as a bundle - and saves you 15% versus purchasing them separately.

I used Delightful Dijon cardstock for my base then layered it with a piece of Chocolate Chip carsick cut 4" x 5 1/4".  I added an additional layer of Very Vanilla cardstock measuring 3 3/4" x 5".

The Gorgeous Grunge stamp set provides lots of texture and it's easy to use. You literally, ink up and stamp. No placement necessary and the messier, the better! ((smile))

And, what card would be complete without a little sparkle?  I added a few Gold Sequins using the new Fine Tip Glue Pen. The precision tip of that glue pen makes putting the tiniest bit of glue exactly where you want it.
