When I ask my customers what color they think a Christmas card should be many of them tell me "red and green".
But, does it have to be red and green?
For instance, who about a beautiful snowflake card with a blue color scheme? Or, a beautiful reindeer card in gold foil and black? Or, how about a Bermuda Bay and Cherry Cobbler combination?
When I made this card initially I didn't like it. I didn't like the fact that it didn't look "Christmas-y". I almost threw it away.
That was when Boo stepped into the room. She took one look at it and said "well, it's not traditional but I like it!". There you have it - saved from the trash can!
The Star of Light Bundle includes fabulous images. I've been playing around with different ideas on how to use them. You know me, they've got to be 'out of the box' ideas because I like utilizing a stamp set beyond the "obvious". The greetings in this set are fantastic! Christmas is about the celebration of Jesus' birth and this set definitely represents that!
I used Silver foil to play up the rich color of the Cherry Cobbler. I used the 3/4" Circle Punch to create decorative corners which I laid over the vellum cardstock die cut image. The silver metallic thread works nicely to compliment the shimmer.
And, like I've always said, "do not buy the just the stamp set or just the framelits. Buy the bundle!" I've scolded myself one too many times over the years when I purchased just one without the other.
