Touches of Texture Free PDF Download

 Happy July!

I love sharing project ideas with you and it seems that Friday's have become quite popular with my followers since it's the day I share a free project PDF download.

Today's card features the Touches of Texture stamp set.

Blogged 7:1

I loved how this card turned out! The colors are soft yet striking and  the striped ribbon plays up the fun textures in the background.  The best part about this stamp set is that the outline images are separate from the solid images.  This allows you to color in the images, if you prefer.  The images are perfect for watercoloring with your Aqua Painter or Blender pen.

Quick Crafting Tip - How to Make a Ribbon Wrap or Tie

When I was a child, my grandmother (Nana) would occasionally take my sister on I, on the train downtown, to where she worked.  She was a professional seamstress and worked sewing silk linings and monograms into fur coats. Furs are no longer worn (and for good reasons) but this was in the mid 1960's and it was a fun-filled day when she would tote us along.

To pass the day she would give me a huge roll of satin or velvet ribbon and I would tie bows. She taught my sister and I how to tie a bow so it would lay correctly.  I learned it has lots to do with how you looped the ribbon before tying it.  I made lots of bows. Lots and lots.

Even though I had "bow training" at a young age, most of my customers tell me they hate making bows because they never turn out well.  So, today I'm going to revolutionize your options!  This idea was shared with me by Jackie from Ontario.  It's not only brilliant, but easy.

If bows frustrate you, give this wrapped ribbon tie a try!

Sweet Sugarplum, You're Blooming!

Page 138-139 of the annual catalog - have you seen it?

Ohhhh, the colors!

The Blooms & Bliss suite of products featured on these two pages had me saying ''ahhhhh" when I first looked at it.  The new Sweet Sugarplum In Color is so pretty!  Paired with Blushing Bride, Mint Macaron and Island Indigo make it even more stunning!

Today's card was designed for my Bingo night.  I had 29 excited stampers gathered to play 6 games of Bingo for hundreds of dollars in Stampin' Up! prizes.  In-between the games, they create three make & take projects and they all received a free product for attending.  Of all the events I hold, this one is the most popular.  Prizes and stamping - what could be more fun?

The large flower was stamped in Blushing Bride, the center stamped in Sweet Sugarplum then cut out with scissors.

I wanted the greeting to stand out so I used Rich Razzleberry ink on the "For You" sentiment and on the inside image of the flower.  I added rhinestones to give the card a little sparkle which really plays up the colors.

The Triple Banner Punch is fabulous to make perfect banners. This one was cut 2" x 4 3/4".  And let's not leave out the coordinating designer paper "Blooms & Bliss"and that gorgeous Sweet Sugarplum Ruched Ribbon. YUM!
