Quick Crafting Tip - How to Create a Tassel

A year ago, nearly to the day, Boo was getting ready for college commencement.  The "big march" is one of the most exciting parts of graduation - and of course, the party afterwards!

From the end of April through the middle of May, many schools will be celebrating their graduates.  Perhaps you know a family member or friend that will be celebrating a graduation.

There's no better way to commend a graduate for their tenacity and hard work than with a hand stamped card!  If you tuck a few bucks inside, it's even better, right?  ((wink))

Today's quick tip video will teach you how to make a tassel - perfect for graduation cards - or any card. Tassels are really popular right now. I've included cutting  I've also included a picture tutorial on how to make the graduation cap that's featured on this card. Be sure to scroll down so you don't miss it.

Summer is right around the corner here in Florida but right now we are enjoying no humidity and mid-80 degree temperatures. It's perfect!

Nothing screams summertime more than a popsicle!  I remember as a kid, my Nana would bring out popsicles to me and my friends while we were playing outside.  On a hot summer day it was the best treat.

And, ohhh, the flavors. I was never fan of grape, but that was my sister's favorite. I loved the orange ones, especially if they were Creamsicles.

Who remembers Creamsicles?

The Cool Treats Bundle in the Occasions Catalog has every flavor you can imagine!

Create ice cream cones, sundaes, popsicles and sweet cards using the varied images and greetings.  It's a great stamp set scrapbookers, too!

The photopolymer images make it easy to align the pieces.  And, if you prefer, you can use the coordinating framelits to die cut your images.

I added a few sequins from the Sprinkles Embellishments for a little texture using Fine-Tip Glue.

It's almost good enough to eat, isn't it? ((smile))

Nailed It!

The retiring accessories are clearing out fast so I thought I would focus on a retiring stamp set.  Stampin' Up! has announced that retiring stamp sets will be available through May 22nd.  After that date, they are available only while supplies last.

I often get an eye roll at a stamping event when I tell someone that they have to fussy cut an image.

That poses a question.

If you love a stamp set and it didn't have coordinating dies, would you not purchase it?

Of course you would purchase it!

Even though the Build It Framelits are sold out, the coordinating stamp set, Nailed It, isn't, and I've created an adorable card that doesn't need the framelits!

This card  would be appropriate for graduation, a promotion or even a thank you card.

I created the Basic Black cardstock frame using the Stitched Shapes Framelits by nesting two closely related sizes together.  I colored in the image using an Aqua Painter from Delightful Dijon and Smoky Slake ink.

The Urban Underground Designer Paper and washi tape are the perfect accents to this card.

Don't let retiring framelits discourage you from purchasing the stamp set you love.
